“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.”~Ernest Boyer, Jr.

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your might.~Deuteronomy 6:5

Oh the days of Kindergarten

Friday was Caleb's K-5 Thanksgiving presentation, I did not know they were dressing up as Pilgrams a very cute surprise! Caleb's class recited Psalm 100 for their part in the Thanksgiving program

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands!

Serve the Lord with galdness;Come before His presence with singing.

Know ye that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him and bless His name.

For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations

Psalm 100

The program was followed with their Thanksgiving Feast and what a spread they had!
My contribution to the feast was turkey cookies, Caleb was so excited about these!

One of the things we are Thankful for this year is Caleb's school, we are thank God for providing this school for Him

When did it happen

Summer has been so long and dry this year, until last week I did not even think about Fall clothes or anything with sleves. But early last week as I looked out my kitchen window this is what I saw.

Over night it seemed the dogwood had turned from tired summer green to bright red, the sun filtering through looking more cool than the summer sun and in the back drop of the old barn it screamed Fall. Suddenly in an instant Fall was awoken in my soul!
When did that happen I thought, had Fall snuck up on me? This year I think it did I have been so busy with my schedule I had forgotten to look for the first signs of Fall. Birmingham is a beautiful city in the Fall with so many trees we get great color, and this year it is a real treat as I thought we wouldn't have any color because of the drought.

Baby Brunch

who does the cake maker, caterer call when the party is for Her? Her friend that was cut from the very same cloth (even though the cake had a "lean" to it). Saturday I had the pleasure to help with a baby shower for Jennifer Vines. We had a brunch to celebrate the coming of Baby Elijah, there was tons of food, gifts and fun times! We all know what a special person Jennifer is to each of us and I just hope she saw how much everyone cares for her. Congratulations Vines family...I can't wait to meet that baby.

Tricks or Treats...FUN

Here it is Nov 1st and Dan is starting his new job today, life is full of change. First let me say how thankful I am to God for His never failing provision and wonderful goodness, My God is an Awesome God!
Well since today is Nov 1st that means yesterday was Halloween. For Halloween we had a scary skeleton-mainly scary because the suit he wanted from Wal-Mart was to small. I wanted to make him one but he was sure to buy one was better, so I gave in!

We also had Dora, Ella was dead set on being Dora although she would be quick to tell you she did not have Dora hair...she refused to wear the wig! She did let me make her costume and I had fun doing that although I did wait until the day of Halloween to finally pull it all together. Yesterday I was painting canvas shoes, dying her skirt...sometimes I think I'm crazy
The amount of candy we now have in the house is obscene! When I asked Ella who was going to eat all the candy in the bag she was dragging while saying HEAVY she replied "I don't know"

But the scariest thing I saw on Halloween by far was the "Crazy Cat Lady" aka Rachel Capps...yes my sister. She won the office costume competiton I don't think they have ever seen anything quite like this before...that's our Rachel!

Ella found her so scary she refused to even hug her
