“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.”~Ernest Boyer, Jr.

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your might.~Deuteronomy 6:5

A New Year

As I sit here in the quiet of my house, everyone else is asleep, Day 1 of a new year 2012! It just kind of amazes me, I remember asking my mom when I was real little maybe 3rd or 4th grade what happens when the 19's run out? I just couldn't imagine the year 2000 and how you would even say that, but here we are well into the 20's.
I smell the collard greens cooking and pause, what a delicious scent, every New Year day we eat pork roast, collard greens and blackeye peas a fun tradition I look forward to. With all those smells mingling in my house I wonder what this year will hold for the Loudon family?
Last year was a lot of work and toil not bad but just not real exciting. A lot of good came out of last year, we helped neighbors rebuild their house after a tree fell on it. We helped strangers rebuild lives after a tornado ripped through Alabama. We started homeschooling which is a major undertaking and takes way more time than I thought. We celebrated 10 years of marriage for us and 50 for Dan's parents. We made the decision to follow God wherever he leads us, right now he hasn't moved us from 47th ST. We started a bible study in our home on Tuesday nights and made some great friendships.
Sometimes as we move throught the mundane of life we don't see all that is going on around us and all God is doing through us, that's why reflection is always good. I don't know what 2012 has in store for us but I love thiking about the possiblities.
Here's a look at our year in pictures, well I could not get this to load so that's why this post is a week late
