“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.”~Ernest Boyer, Jr.

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your might.~Deuteronomy 6:5

First day of School

Nervous, Excited, Scared...Kindergarten

I'm ready to go was the announcement I heard from Caleb this morning as he got out of bed and proceeded to lay down on the couch.

The big day has finally arrived and I can hardly believe it after so much talk and planning here it is Kindergarten. Nervous, excited, scared, worried and a little sad were all the emotions I was feeling this morning as I packed my BIG boy's lunch and helped him get ready for school.

If he was nervious he never showed it...he sat right down and kept to himself lost in the crowd of children. As I watched him in morning assembly I got teary eyed but refused to cry because no one else was crying and did not want to be the one responsible for making all the moms cry!

After the assembly he lined up with his class and marched off lunch box in hand...my baby in Kindergarten!

Beach Fun

So here it is Wednesday...already! We decided to go to the beach on our last week before school starts, and we have had a great time.

Our house here is GREAT I want to live here, when we got here Caleb went exploring the house and just kept saying "this house is amazing" It is 3 stories with enclosed porches on each level-I'm impressed!

Caleb and Ella love the beach although, Ella gets ready to go home before Caleb. We have been out on the beach every day except yesterday, we took the kids to a water park. Caleb loved the water slides and took me down one, he kept saying "it's ok mom, it's not scary!" We are having a great time.

Peaches for me

OK we all know the song so sing along...Million of peaches, peaches for me. Millions of peaches, peaches for free. (play song 1 while you read this)

For the past few weeks all I can think about is peaches I have desired the sweet, juicy, summer ripened fruit. How do I like my peaches....right out of hand, baked into a pie, folded into homemade icecream but this weekend I opted for a cobbler. I made a peach and blueberry cobbler, the pictures can not catch the lightness of the cake, the sweetness of the peaches or the yumminess of how great it was. On a HOT and HUMID summer night a big bowl of cobbler topped with icecream made the perfect dinner!

HOMO milk

Ok if gas prices go up a few cents everyone gets up in arms...news stories, maps to track the cheapest gas in your area, everyone upset about it, etc...

But has anyone noticed or mentioned MILK prices, what is going on? Why is milk suddenly over $5 a gallon? At Wal-Mart yesterday it was $5.28 for name brand milk and $4.58 for the HOMO milk. But with this sudden jump in prices you never hear a word...what's the deal? Milk has now become a major part of our food budget. When will it stop? But yet all reports say this is not inflation...tell it to someone else!

Had to use that title to get attention, once again sorry if you found this by accident and were not looking for a mom's ranting on milk prices:)
