“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.”~Ernest Boyer, Jr.

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your might.~Deuteronomy 6:5

The cake the kids made

Last week was my birthday, I know this is way late but school has thrown me for a loop with my days. The kids had asked to make me a birthday cake, they get all into birthdays, so I said OK this will be fun. I baked the cake and let then ice, decorate and put candles on. And what a creation it was sprinkles in pink of course, a smiley face in pink and candles in pink and white to add variety.

Caleb beginning to ice the cake
Ok so I helped a little ;)
how many sprinkles will fit into a 3yr old mouth?

no mom we did not taste the icing

the finished product, I love the candles around the sides

Caleb said "It's gorgeous"

I had to have some help blowing out all those candles

Favorite from the Beach

Just a few of my favorite pictures of Ella from the beach

no explination needed on why I like this one
yes Ella actually licking the ice cream cone, I'm sure she is not the first...YUCK!
I love the way she is looking at Caleb like she is just waiting for him to make a move

Love it that this year my girl has enough hair to blow in the wind

First day of School

So here it is first day of school, oh the excitement! Caleb was ready to go, see his friends, have his new teacher and I think just ready. Once again I am so thankful for a school we are all so excited about, all the teachers and staff so excited and ready to go what a blessing.

This morning I think Ella had a brief change of heart on not starting school until she is 5, she got her backpack and was ready to head off to school...with Caleb of course!
A vision of the future!

Beach Babies

Summer is almost over and this reality has set in as I sit here post vacation and review all the pictures. In a few days Caleb will start school and then summer will officially have ended for this year. Once again my kids and myself are all tanned to a nice brown with bleached hair we all have that beachy glow. These are just a few of my favorite pictures from last week, check back all week for more photos and tales from the beach.
