“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.”~Ernest Boyer, Jr.

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your might.~Deuteronomy 6:5

I came across this passage in my bible study today and it made me think of the current economic problems America faces today. We can not trust in any man to solve our problems but in the Lord our hope is not in the stock market but in the Lord alone and in Him we will prosper. We will not be anxious in the year of drought and we will not have fear because God is our strength. The riches and hope that comes from putting our hope in the world economic market can (will) leave us in a day making us a fool for putting our hope in them but God is eternal and His riches last forever no one and nothing can take them away! I will put my hope and trust in the LORD!

Cursed is the man who trusts in man. And who makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs form the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreadsout its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But it's leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will it cease from yielding fruit.

The heart is decietful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?
I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even give to every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doing.

As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, So is he who gets riches, but not by right; It will leave him in the midst of his days, And at his end he will be a fool

Flour, sugar, eggs, and love

I had the pleasure of doing a baby shower for my sister R last weekend along with here sister-in-law J. For her cake I decided to make a prego lady sitting atop the cake with cupcakes to serve to the guests. I wasn't quite sure how to make the prego lady so I just worked at it until I figured it out. I think it turned out pretty well, you can't really see from this pic but she was complete with a belly button.

The cupcakes were cute and everything turned out very well but the cutest thing by far was Ella. She was sooo funny, not being the least bit shy she was showing off her ballet skills. Helping R open presents it was clear this was her party! She had been to other baby showers where other little girls got to help out and now this was her person and it was her turn to be the helper.

Ella giving R her present, Ella had planned from the day she found out R had a baby in her tummy that she would give R's baby her Glowie (glow worm) she was so excited she blurted out it's my glowie before R could even look in the bag.

Where did they go?

Monday marked 7 years of marriage for Dan and me and I just have one question where did they go? As I look at my 6yr old and my 3yr old I know, but still can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday that we were married at my parents farm on a beautiful fall evening. Since our anniversary fell on a Monday we just had dinner at home but of course I made a special dinner.
Gordon Ramsey's Beef Wellington
Sauteed Fingerling Potatoes
Wilted Gem Lettuces with Mustard Vinaigrette
My fear is that I will look up and it will have been another 7 years and I will have teenagers, but since I can't stop time I will just make the most of each day we have and enjoy this moment because it will be gone oh to soon.
