“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.”~Ernest Boyer, Jr.

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your might.~Deuteronomy 6:5

Creation Museum

What is man that You are mindful of him? (Psalm 8:4)

Recently, several of our families took a trip to the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky. What an amazing place! What a reminder of how magnificent our Creator and His creation is. Each display was a testament to the order and design of His universe. Each display also presented what evolutionists/humanists/naturalists would say is the logical explanation for the display. Right beside that, the Biblical evidence would be given. The idea of the museum is not to make an argument for creation from man’s perspective or wisdom, but to simply and clearly set forth the Biblical account.

One of the most amazing presentations is in the museum’s planetarium. There, a graphic demonstration of the utter vastness of our solar system, galaxy and universe is given. It is almost incomprehensible! At the close of the display, the minute size of the earth is compared to the rest of the universe. It is extremely humbling to see that our world is almost nothing in this context!

Yet, our God and creator placed us at the top of His created order when He spoke us into existence. Then, He looked at what He had created and said that “it was very good”. We then promptly rebelled and went our own way.

Yet, God in His infinite love, mercy and grace had a plan for our redemption. 1 Peter 1:20-21 says Jesus “was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” Not only did God have a plan, He also chose us to be saved before He spoke any of His creation into existence! Ephesians 1:4-6 says ”He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”

How is it that we sometimes have to be reminded that God is beyond comprehension and He deserves all glory and honor? I encourage you to look around at the small part of His creation we can see and glory in our magnificent Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer!
If you ever find yourself near Cincinatti, Ohio, take the short drive to Petersburg and visit the Creation Museum. It is worth the trip!
